About the event
Two thousand years ago, Yeshua came to his own people in the land of Israel. Some believed him to be the Messiah, others were unsure. The religious leaders were divided, then persuaded the Roman authorities to put him to death.
Yet, after his death, many claimed he had risen from the dead. The number of disciples grew, from Jerusalem across Israel, into the Diaspora and the Gentile world. As the number of non-Jewish believers increased, the religion became known as Christianity. It severed its Jewish roots. In parallel, Rabbinic Judaism evolved, refusing and refuting the Messianic claims of Jesus. The gulf between Judaism and Christianity became entrenched: Judaism regarded belief in Yeshua as a betrayal and Christianity as a foreign religion. The Church derided and persecuted Jewish people.
How did the schism arise, and how should we respond today?
This conference aims to help Christians in their understanding of, Jewish people and help our fellow Jews to have a better grasp of the life and mission of Yeshua, the Jew commonly known as Jesus.
The day includes talks, music and testimonies from Jewish and Muslim background believers in Yeshua - and plenty of time for Q&A.
